The Spotify Audience Network allows publishers on Megaphone to monetize unsold inventory. To explore the Spotify Audience Network in more detail, please read this article.

In order to have your podcast considered for the Spotify Audience Network, the podcast needs to be hosted on the Megaphone platform.

You can submit a podcast to Spotify Audience Network at any time. Submissions are reviewed and approved on a rolling basis - exact timing for approval will depend on the current volume of submissions.

Due to the nature of the ad targeting mechanism, we are unable to allow any content intended to be consumed by children into the network. Any podcasts submitted for the network consideration that fit into this category will be automatically rejected.

Only Org Admins can submit shows for consideration. To begin the submission process please follow the steps below:

  1. Start by navigating to the Spotify Audience Network icon to access the Dashboard.

In this view, you will be able to view shows that have already been submitted to the Spotify Audience Network, and submit new shows.

2. Next click on the "Submit Podcast to Spotify Audience Network" button.

3. You will then be presented with a modal where you can search by show name or network. You can select all shows or an individual show simply by clicking on the + icon.

Confirm your submission by pressing the purple "Select" button.

4. After confirming the selection, you will be presented with a modal to now define the category that should be associated with each podcast.

Confirm the submission by pressing the purple "Submit" button.

Once you see the 'successful submission' screen, you have submitted your show(s) for review. You'll receive an email notifying you if your show was approved or rejected.

Your show(s) are eligible to begin receiving ads from Spotify Audience Network as soon as you receive the approval email. If rejected, we will confirm that the show has violated our community guidelines. The message will direct you here to review the guidelines and to make any necessary modifications to the podcast for it to be eligible in the marketplace.

While the show is being assessed, you can set your category exclusions and price floors for each show.

It is imperative that you set these category exclusions before or immediately after filling out the submission form. Failure to set the Spotify Audience Network category exclusions for each submitted podcast can result in advertisements from non-desired brands/advertisers running on your podcast. The only way to prevent this from happening is to follow the directions in this article and set the desired advertisement category exclusions for each individual podcast that you are submitting.

In order for Spotify Audience Network ads to run, please ensure that there is at least one available ad location in each episode (we recommend having a pre and a midroll location available as Spotify Audience Network ads currently runs in those respective ad locations and does not currently run in post roll). The Spotify Audience Network will always run secondary to any in-house campaigns that your organization has setup via the Campaigns tab, but before promos setup via the Promos tab.

Once a podcast is officially opted-in to the Spotify Audience Network and after receiving a full month of ad impressions, you will receive a statement around the 15th each month for the previously completed month. This report will provide a breakdown for each podcast that received any Spotify Audience Network ads, the advertiser that ran on each podcast, and the revenue received.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us in Live Chat as we would be happy to assist.
