The Episode Performance report is accessible from your reporting dashboard under the "Reporting" tab. This article will cover the Episode Performance section, which encompasses all downloads for specific episodes.

1. Managing the Episode Performance Report

Set Date Range

You can filter the range for a particular report by toggling the filter to show a grouping by day, week, month, quarter or year. This will group the chart in accordance with the overall date filter you've selected for the page. For example, if you have selected only the past 30 days for the page overall and group this report by year, you will only see one data point as only one year is represented.

If you have included all podcasts, only the top five performing episodes across all your podcasts will be represented on the line graph (though additional shows will be visible below the chart). If you have the reports filtered to a specific podcast, you will see the top five episodes of that particular podcast displayed in the report. Each of the top five episodes is marked by a color designated next to each podcast title.

On this report, you can see the episode titles, the total downloads for the date range selected, and the pubdate for each episode.

Since Published

This view of the dashboard will allow for you to analyze first 24 hours , 7 days, and to date (total) metrics of your top performing episodes, since their pubdate.

Within the visualization, the first 24 hours will be shaded purple, while the first 7 days will be shaded green and the to date metrics will be found in blue.

2. Export the Report

You can export the report for the date range selected by pushing the export button. A CSV will automatically download to your machine.

3. Expand the Report to Explore Further

At the bottom of the report, click the Episode Report link to open an additional view to explore the report in more detail.

You'll then be taken to an expanded view:

Click the Add Episodes button on the left side to open a modal where you can search for specific podcasts and then select episodes within those shows or across multiple podcasts. You can also add draft episodes, which will have metrics if you unpublished an active episode back to draft form. Once you've selected all the episodes you'd like included, hit "Select" to confirm.

After selecting the episodes you'd like included in the report, select the date range in the top right corner, click "Apply" and select "Run Report".

In certain cases, depending on the amount of data queried, the report may require an extended time to process. In these cases, after clicking the download button, Megaphone will display a prompt letting you know that the report is processing. Once processing is complete, a report download link will be delivered via email to the email address associated with your account. Selecting the link in this email will start the download of the report. If your report falls under these conditions, you will see the following visual prompt displayed in Megaphone:

You'll then see an Episode Performance report for the episodes in the date range selected.

This report can be viewed by episode overall, broken out by date, or relative to dates since it has been published (such as 1 day after publishing, etc.) in the View filtering. Similarly, the report can be displayed by day, week, month, quarter or year.

The report can be ordered by Episode title, Podcast title, Downloads, or date by clicking on the header (two arrows represent ordering fields).

Once the report is formatted as you'd like, you can export the data in the top right corner by pushing the downward arrow.
