Campaign Transition Timeline and Pre-Booking Period

The transition to Spotify's ad technology will happen in phases, with separate pre-booking periods for campaigns and promotions. This article covers the campaign transition timeline.

Action is required. Campaigns not pre-booked using the new campaign types (Priority or Standard) will not deliver after July 14, 2026.

April 15, 2026

Pre-booking period begins. The "Guaranteed" and "Private Marketplace" tabs appear in Megaphone. You can begin booking Priority and Standard campaigns, and PMP deals.

Note: PMP access is subject to eligibility and acceptance of service terms.

July 14, 2026

Pre-booking period ends. Last day to transition existing campaigns and book new campaigns to deliver past July 15.

July 15, 2026

Transition to Spotify ad tech is complete. The old "Campaign" booking option is removed. Only pre-booked Priority and Standard campaigns will run. All other previously booked campaigns will automatically end.

Promotions pre-booking period begins. You can begin booking promotions through the new experience. Promotions booked through the older booking experience will not run after July 15.

July 14, 2026

Promotions pre-booking period ends. Last day to transition promotions.

July 15, 2026

Transition complete. The old promotions booking experience is removed. Promotions pre-booked through the new experience will run; all others will automatically end.


What to do before July 15: Guaranteed Campaigns

Use the scenarios below to plan your transition.


For campaigns starting and ending before July 15, 2026

Book as normal using the current "Standard Campaign" option. No additional action is needed. These campaigns will complete their flights before the transition.

For campaigns starting after July 15, 2026

These should be pre-booked using the new campaign types.

  1. Go to the Campaigns page and select the Guaranteed tab

  2. Click Create + and select (Pre-book) Priority or Standard

  3. Complete the new campaign setup flow

If you previously set up this campaign using the old booking flow, we highly recommend you pre-book a new Priority or Standard campaign. If this is not done by July 14, 2026, the original campaign will be archived automatically and will no longer deliver.

For campaigns starting before July 15 and ending after July 15, 2026

To minimize campaign delivery disruption, we recommend booking two flights:

  1. Version 1: Book using the current "Standard campaign" type and set the end date to July 14, 2026

  2. Version 2: Pre-book a Priority or Standard version of the campaign with a start date of July 15, 2026

If the campaign has already been booked, update the end date to July 14, 2026, then pre-book a new Priority or Standard version to start July 15. (Note: even if you do not change the end date of previously booked campaigns, delivery will end on July 14, 2026.)



What to do before July 15: Promotions

Starting May 15, 2026, you will need to use the new promotions booking experience to set up any promotions intended to run on or after July 15. Promotions booked through the older experience will not run after July 15.

We strongly encourage using the pre-booking period to transition any active promotions before the July 14 deadline.


A Note for Megaphone API users

Megaphone API users can review updated endpoints, currently available in the Developer Hub. Publishers and OMS providers should implement these breaking changes in order to support pre-booking ahead of the July 15 transition.
