Overview
Megaphone tracking pixels make it easy to measure your promotions – either within your own network or across external partners.
You can create, manage, and measure all Promotions from the Promotions tab in Megaphone.
Promotions Tab Overview
Navigate to Promotions → Cross-promotions to view and manage all Promotions.
At a glance: See key details like promotion name, status, format type, and performance.
Filter and search: Use the search bar or status filters to quickly locate a specific promotion.
In-network vs. Out-of-network: Toggle between these views to see which promotions are running across your own shows versus partner networks.
Create a new Promotion: Click Create cross-promotion (upper right) to start a new setup.
Creating an In-Network Promotion
Use an In-network Promotion to promote one of your podcasts across other shows within your own network.
Name your promotion
Choose a descriptive name that’s easy to recognize later (e.g., AS Promo – Episode 12).Set your flight dates
Define when the promotion should start and end. You can adjust later using Edit schedule.Select the podcast to promote
Choose the show—or a specific episode—you want to drive listeners to.Enable tracking
Keep the Track attribution with Megaphone toggle turned on. Megaphone will automatically generate and install a tracking pixel—no manual setup or third-party configuration needed.Set targeting and delivery
Configure where and how the promo will run across your network, including ad placements (pre-, mid-, or post-roll) and audience or show-level targeting as applicable.Review and save
Double-check all details, then click Save to activate your promotion.
Creating an Out-of-Network Promotion
Use an Out-of-network Promotion to promote your podcast on shows that live outside your own network.
Name your promotion and select your podcast
Identify the show (or episode) you’re promoting.
Share the tracking link with your partner
Megaphone automatically generates a unique link your external publisher will use to create and install the tracking pixel. If your partner doesn’t install the pixel, attribution data will not be collected.Partner installs the pixel
Your partner opens the shared link, selects their hosting platform, and follows the guided installation steps.
Megaphone provides host-specific instructions where available.
Monitor pixel status in Megaphone
Go to Promotions → Cross-promotions → Out-of-network to check progress:Created – The pixel link has been generated but not yet implemented.
Waiting – Megaphone is waiting for the partner to install the pixel and send us attribution events.
Active – The pixel is live and tracking at least one event.
Measuring Cross-Promotion Performance
Track the impact of all Cross-Promotions in one place.
Navigate to Promotions → Cross-promotions → Analytics to see organization-wide performance, or filter by date range, podcast, or individual promotion.
Key Metrics
Impressions – Total times your promo was served during the selected period.
Reach – Number of unique devices served your promo.
Frequency – Average number of times each device received your promo.
Conversions – Unique devices that were served the promo and played the promoted show or episode within the attribution window.
New conversions – Devices that listened to the promoted show or episode for the first time in 60 days.
Conversion rate – Percentage of unique devices served the promo that also played the promoted content within the attribution window.
Attribution Details
Cross-Promotion measurement attribution is based on unique devices (identified by IP + device information) that were served your promo and then played the promoted content within 30 days. The 30-day attribution window is fixed and cannot be adjusted.
